Bench Press Form Trick With Bands
The action of locking down your shoulders using your back is really important for the bench. It allows you to cut range, increase stability, and prevent defaulting to a poor position in the bottom of the press!
A great way to gain an understanding and appreciation of this action, banded distraction can be used. Just sling a band around your shoulder and have someone pull you aggressively from behind
You're goal is to use your upper back to oppose the bands wanting to pull you towards a shrugged position. Using this drill you'll start to achieve a feel of how this action can benefit you
