Do you just go and grab the bar when you bench? If you want to maximize your grip tightness this is not the way to go about it.
To maximize grip tightness you’re going to want to wedge your hand into the bar and rotate your hand outwards, to really glue your hand to the bar. You want to try to wedge your hand and really pact down the tissue. From there trying to spread your hands out will ensure maximal tightness
Chalk is also a key tool to use especially if you’re using some of those commercial gym bars that lack any substantial knurling. Chalk will help create a good contact between your hand and the bar..
