Feet Up Benching - Will Benching Flat Back Make Me Stronger?
This answer is dependent on the person, but I'm going to give a scenario in which it can add a lot of value, or just waste time.
If you tend to rely a lot on a big arch, leg drive, and good positioning, you're likely going to get a ton of value from this.
It will take you completely away from those things you rely on and force you to be stronger through a greater range of motion.
If you already bench pretty flat and tend to huck and chuck the weight, then this probably won't do as much for you. You don't get a lot out of technique.
In this scenario you're not doing much different than you always do. This type of person would be better off practicing feet down and dialing technique in.
Utilizing feet up benching, and just plain making benching harder has been insurmountable for our athletes, and insurmountable for me.
